Magic Windows Week 2: Spatial Augmented Reality

For this assignment we had to augment a surface or space using projection mapping, and give it some sort of interaction.  I chose to use the animated Play-Doh Man gif I created last week, and map him onto a white desk chair so it would look like he was sitting on it.

I used a MovieTexture on a plane in Unity and syphoned the output to MadMapper using Funnel.  I keystoned the projection to the chair, making sure his arms don’t go off the sides when he is flailing them.  The interaction is a simple one:  Space bar makes him stop and go.  This allows the user to transform Play-Doh Man from ball to man and back again at will.
